I was a professor of Julie's at UCLA, and a member of her doctoral dissertation committee. I wanted to share this letter of reference I wrote for Julie some 10 years ago, when she was first applying for funding to travel to India. Julie, of course, got the funds, did the research, and successfully completed the dissertation and PhD. Thank you for such a beautiful celebration of her life and all her many accomplishments today.
